If you're just getting started, here's my video walkthrough of building an MVP with Sharetribe's no-code tools. It's a useful overview of the basics, though some details have changed: we've added a ton of functionality to Sharetribe since it was recorded!

Which features are you currently configuring? What was challenging and what was a breeze during your setup?

I joined last year as a Customer Advocate, and I’m now also part of the Experts team. You might have seen me on calls, in support, or in some survey-related interviews.

A big part of my job is connecting with Sharetribe founders, and I love getting to know the stories behind their marketplace businesses. My superpower? I can yap forever about pretty much anything 😁

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me moving in one way or another—my quarter-life crisis recently led me to triathlon—enjoying a home-cooked meal with friends, or redecorating my apartment for the 100th time.

My superpower is empathy: understanding where different people are coming from and meeting them there. That mindset also guides how I work with our customers. I enjoy helping people succeed in building and growing their marketplaces, supporting them as they turn their ideas into thriving platforms and communities or finish their validation period with the understanding that the project might need re-thinking.

There are several use cases for other sorting options:

• Display search results in a hand-picked order. This can be particularly important in marketplaces with a relatively low number of listings, where the operator wants to hand-pick the “best” listings.

• Allow ordering search results by “popular” or “review average”. While our no-code builder doesn’t have sorting options like “popular” or “review average” out of the box, these can be mimicked by numeric metadata fields.

• Monetize your marketplace with featured listings. Some marketplaces want to use a monetization option where you can pay to get additional visibility for your listing. A typical way to offer that additional visibility is that your listing is displayed at the top of search results.

In this project, we’ll add the ability to disable some or all of the default options, and turn custom numeric fields into sorting options

• Displaying information about the user or listing being verified by the operator, and/or allowing filtering the search by whether a listing has been verified.

• Displaying the cancellation policy or other policies of the marketplace on the listing page without allowing each listing author to adjust this content.

• Add data to the user or listing that is not displayed in the user interface of the marketplace, but that still has impact on how the data is rendered in the marketplace. For example, the operator might want to feature specific listings on a content page by querying the API for listings that have a certain operator-controlled attribute, or control the order in which certain listings are displayed on the search page by individually manipulating the priority of each listing.

In the current no-code builder, the operator can only add public listing fields, and only public and private user fields. This release adds the concept of a “metadata” field, which is visible to the users in the marketplace, but only editable by the operator.

• If the marketplace is for selling digital files, the seller should be able to upload a file, and the buyer should be able to download it automatically after making a purchase.

• In a rental marketplace, the customer might be asked to take pictures of the rental at the start and end of the booking period and send them to the provider

• If the marketplace is for digital services, the customer might send their requirements as a file, and the provider might want to share the deliverable they created as a file.

In this project, we’ll add the support for storing digital files (other than images) and making them accessible to the users of the marketplace via our APIs.

In the no-code builder, we’ll add the ability to attach files to messages, as it provides a solution for several use cases related to digital files, allowing marketplace ideas where digital files are essential to be validated without coding.
